Sang= Company of the Truth
When we sit together with the Guru and process our feelings, emotions, contradictions, problems and get the path from the Guru- it is called as Satsang. Very Blessed are those who get an opportunity for Satsang.
The Big CONTRADICTION- Read Title
Arey wah! In this Pitru Paksha, when the time is to honor our ancestors , people are busy tying revdis in red cloth and blowing them like crackers … expecting instant miracles.
Chanting God’s name on the rosary? Mind wanders . Counting money? Tak-tak-tak —full focus!
This is the duality of our age. We search for stability in a world of change, and predictability in a universe of impermanence.
I am reminded of the Panchatantra tale of the tortoise who couldn’t resist talking mid-flight, lost his grip, and crashed down—because he forgot the essence of timing and silence.
In the same way, when we ignore the right actions in the right season, the fall is inevitable.
During Navratra, when Durga arrives on her elephant , invoking Hasti Tantra and Uchchista Ganapati can open the path to the Nav Nidhis . But first—during Pitru Paksha—one must fulfill the duty of Shraddha
Today is both 3rd and 4th Shraddh day. A good day to honour our ancestors, get rid of sins and punishments of many births and get on the path of Joy.
Only then can Devi’s blessings fully blossom
As the Bhagavad Gita (2.47) reminds us:
“Karmanye vadhikaraste, ma phaleshu kadachana”
(You have a right to perform your duties, but never to the fruits of action.)
So the lesson is simple:
Respect the season.
Perform your karmic duties.
Let blessings unfold in their own time.
Otherwise, as they say in Mumbaiya style—“Ae dil mushkil jeena yahan”.
The most difficult question to answer is
WHY ME?
WHY AM I suffering when I have done nothing wrong.
