When the Eagle smiles in the East… the seeds of dharma and diplomacy sprout in the soil of shared values.
Here is Her Excellency Karen F. Richards, the Senior Agricultural Attaché at the United States Embassy in New Delhi, representing the U.S. Department of Agriculture across India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka.
Today, she holds a copy of the Wall Street cover that features me, but what she really holds is far more symbolic—a gesture of cross-cultural acknowledgment and the silent handshake between Krishi (agriculture), Rishi (wisdom), and Sandeshi (message-bearers).
That cover is also the symbol of permanence and the inherent fortitude of Human Beings- something that is remarkable and that will outlast AI if it will ever goes rogue.
Only I know what went behind this cover, totally restricted, pushed to a corner, lack of respect, lack of even access to personal restroom and becoming a mistry myself to fix the dirt & the Sloth.-One of the Cardinal Sins listed in the bible.
Yes, this cover and this picture is the victory of human fortitude, and is nowhere near defiance.
That is class my friends and that is the Gemstone Universe ecosystem, fluidity, scale, rhythm while everything around is going plain grotesque and ugly.
Karen represents one of the most impactful and highly respected & recognisedd arms of civil diplomacy—the bridge between food security and foreign policy, climate action and community livelihoods, trade diplomacy and ethical sustainability.
When I say that the future belongs to:
- The Krishi who nurtures the Earth,
- The Mistry who builds with skill,
- The Rishi who teaches with presence, and
- The Mridu Bhashi who connects through sweetness—
I also say this:
Every great ecosystem has invisible gardeners.
Today, I thank one such gardener.
