Prelude – The Immutable Law of Value
Since 1994, I have not seen a single year when the prices of good gemstones have fallen.
We have witnessed the subprime crisis, Lehman collapse, real-estate crashes, and global currencies tumble. Markets rose and fell, but the value of fine, natural, untreated gemstones — the true gifts of the Earth — has never declined.
Gemstones obey divine economics. They do not respond to speculation, algorithms, or man-made mood swings. Their price reflects purity, rarity, and the energy that resides within.

Part I – The Gemstone Pricing Index (2011 Legacy)
A decade ago, when I wrote the definitive article on gemstone pricing, there was — and still is — no standard global price list for colored gemstones. Unlike gold or diamonds, each gem is unique, defined by its tone, saturation, origin, clarity, and carat weight.
In that article, derived from hundreds of real evaluations, I explained how gemstone prices rise geometrically, not linearly. A one-carat fine emerald at USD 500 per carat does not mean a two-carat stone will cost USD 1000. It might cost USD 2000 or USD 5000 — because true rarity multiplies, it never adds.
That 2011 paper remains one of the few industry resources written from real trade experience — not theory, but the voice of the field.

Part II – The Gemstone Pipeline: 18 Stages = 9
The journey of a gemstone from mine to customer passes through roughly 18 stages — each adding cost, risk, and karmic weight. 1 plus 8 equals 9, symbolizing Mars — the planet of effort, energy, and material transformation.
At each step — from miners to rough dealers, cutters, treaters, and manufacturers — value is added, and profit is claimed. But the purity of energy can also dilute when a gem passes through too many hands.
Gemstone Universe stands between Level 4 and Level 5 — among the rarest tiers of the pipeline, dealing directly with primary cutters, treaters, and manufacturers. This means we access goods that rarely reach open trade in India — gemstones of such high vibration and clarity that they are usually reserved for collectors or auction houses.
To operate at this level requires not just financial capacity but karmic integrity, trust, and lineage.
Part III – After COVID: When Credit Died and Clarity Rose
Before 2020, the gemstone world was sustained by trust-based credit lines. Dealers could buy on 60-90 day terms, paying after sale. COVID ended that world.
Today, credit is virtually extinct. Only the largest vendors get perhaps two weeks of leeway. Liquidity — not leverage — now drives the trade.
This shift has made cash the new gemstone. The market has moved from volume to velocity. Only those with real capital and genuine goods survive.
In metaphysical terms, liquidity is Prāṇa — the life-breath of commerce. When the unworthy were removed and the genuine remained, it was not an economic correction but a karmic purification of the trade.

Part IV – The Domino of Mining Reality
Mining does not happen in air-conditioned comfort or urban convenience.
Emerald mines in Zambia, ruby fields in Mozambique, or sapphire belts in Sri Lanka are often hundreds of kilometers from civilization. To extract a single stone requires entire human ecosystems — miners, their families, children, teachers, and healers.
A makeshift school must be built, a temple must rise, and a primary health center must function. Fuel must power machines across jungles and mountains. Roads must be cleared, camps maintained, and lives protected.
When COVID struck and mining halted for over 16 months, these families were stranded — unable to go home, unable to mine, yet needing food and dignity.
That is the real cost behind every carat of light.
And yet, through divine grace and disciplined management, Gemstone Universe continued to deliver Jyotish-quality gemstones at fair value — maintaining purity, supply, and integrity while others paused.

Part V – The Masterpiece Gallery Revelation
At the world’s colored gemstone capital — the Jewelry Trade Center (JTC) in Silom, Bangkok — a new chapter begins.

During my recent visit for evaluation, I shot an impromptu video surrounded by emeralds, rubies, and sapphires that embody what I have spoken for decades — that true gemstones are not luxury items, they are living legacies of Earth’s creative consciousness.
