In Pic: A Light Installation I planned and executed for random strangers who went on to become my biggest fans.
“Very few people know how to utilize me.”
Let that line settle for a moment.
Not use me.
Utilize me—the way tea utilizes water.
The way light utilizes darkness.
The way a soul utilizes silence.

I was in the lobby of a five-star international hotel—just sipping tea, not seeking conversation.
The waiter came over and presented a cup, proudly saying,
“Sir, this is our finest Darjeeling.”
I took a sip and gently called him back.
“The tea is good,” I said, “but it is not Darjeeling.”
A few moments later, a poised woman, part-Asian and part-Caucasian in appearance, approached me.
“Excuse me,” she said, “My name is Gloria. May I test the tea?”
I nodded, still engaged in another conversation. Gloria returned shortly after, handed me a fresh brew, and I sipped again.
Yes. This was Darjeeling.
She was intrigued.
“How do you know so much about tea?” she asked.
I smiled:
“My ancestral home is in Darjeeling. My cousins still live there.
And I know a little about tea.
Just like I know a little about color.
And light.”

That’s when Gloria leaned in and asked,
“If you don’t mind, may I take the liberty of asking your opinion about the light installation in this space?”
I looked around, then responded:
“It’s like your earlier tea. It appears to be Darjeeling… but it isn’t.”
She looked stunned.
“That’s… disappointing,” she said.
“Because this is one of my finest works. I work in high fashion and curated spaces. I thought this light design was flawless.”
I said with kindness—not to diminish, but to elevate:
“It’s not a problem that you think it’s the best.
The problem is—it isn’t.
But for your current job, yes… it will do.”

We were soon joined by a gentleman—elegant, composed—who introduced himself as Gloria’s better half.
An antiques connoisseur, he too seemed fascinated by the lights. As I spoke briefly about their design, I explained:
“The function of light isn’t just to show your goods in the best possible light.
It is to influence how you feel in the space.
How your clients respond emotionally.
Like a drizzle in Britain—it can dull the soul.
But the right light should feel like fine silk—not jarring,
but emotionally immersive.”
They both paused.
Then Gloria asked,
“Who are you, really?”
And I replied,
“A student of light.”
Within minutes, they asked me to design a new light installation.
And today, what you see in this image is that installation.

The T-LIGHTS Installation – A Sacred Geometry of Light & Mood
There are nine circular pendant lights—each one echoing a portal, a chakra, a planetary principle. But the brilliance is not just in their symmetry.
The real power lies in the hidden permutations.
I contacted the manufacturer directly and asked for three specific temperature variants:
3000K (Warm)
4500K (Neutral)
6000K (Cool)
Along with four adjustable intensity levels:
25%
50%
75%
100%
This gives me 12 sacred light combinations, fully in tune with the 9x12 framework.

Set it to 3000K at 75%. Stand beneath for 3 minutes.
Boom.
