Today I share with deep reverence a special Mentor Moment featuring the Honourable Councillor Anjana Patel, currently serving as the Mayor of Harrow, United Kingdom — a woman of proud Indian heritage, with ancestral roots in Tanzania, and a heart tuned to service, community, and culture.
In this touching moment, she holds the Wall Street Magazine cover featuring me — not as a form of glorification, but as a quiet yet powerful affirmation of shared values: Dharma, Seva, and Udaya (rising with purpose).
What is it that makes the Indian spirit so enduring?
It is this:

Mayor Anjana Patel’s journey is not hers alone — it is the story of countless sons and daughters of Bharat who, despite colonial trauma, partitioned destinies, and invisible ceilings, went to faraway lands like Kenya, Uganda, Fiji, Mauritius, the Caribbean, and Tanzania…
… and still rose.
They carried with them Masala and Mantras, Bhagavad Gita and Basmati,
And wherever they went — they built temples, homes, businesses, communities, and bridges of hope.
