Best wishes and greetings for the Hindu New Year, may all be happy, healthy, prosperous, and abundant.
The Hindu New Year is celebrated by different names with minor tweaks all across India, exactly demonstrating unity in diversity and the sheer expanse , variety, cultures of our great nation.
So- in Karnataka, you will celebrate Ugadi, in Maharashtra Gudi Padwa , in Assam, Bihu and and so on -my advanced good wishes for all these suspicious festivals that signify the new year and also Herald cultivation of New Auspicious habits and practises for growth of self family and the nation.
It is quite rare that something lets me going nowadays passionately- hasn’t had for more than 12 years now, but a couple of days back a certain distinguished guest with extensive and reasonable diplomatic background in between good normal civil conversation started with a sentence that said You Indians….fill in the blanks yourself
As always, I gently told him about the sheer length, breath( Not Breadth) and depth of India, not just in terms of landmass, but also the rich variety of colour, culture, people and local traditions added to that.
I also told him that your perception of India is basically due to Bollywood cinema and average tourist, who comes here and bargains for nearly about everything?
It so happens that he has been following me on my public profile and in that brilliant group of people he said to me. Can you explain India in two lines/sentences- The Guruji Shrii Arnav way.

And Boy- did I do it? Of course, yes, so what are these two lines,

And- after my request, this song was played on the screen and post the screening- I asked him what do you see and what do you say?

I said in this three minute video you see less than .1% of India and Indian people much to his shock, he was thinking, that most of these people were extras hired by the tourism department to promote tourism.
So when I explained to him about the boat man from somewhere in UP to the elephant caretaker in Kerala to the farmers in Punjab exhibiting just a portion of India, he was overwhelmed.
The Hindu new year is something like that in Ugadi- we prepare a dish call Pachadi.
The pachadi is a notable festive food that combines all flavors – sweet, sour, salty, bitter, astringent and piquant. In Telugu and Kannada Hindu traditions, it is a symbolic reminder that one must expect all flavors of experiences in the coming new year and make the most of them.
a very deep philosophy indeed-If we accept all that is in front of us in the right spirit, any permutation and combination life serves us- remember, I didn’t use a word “ THROWS” that- that is very weak assumption from a certain part of geography. That is just not India.
Happy New Year once again, and this is yet another start- right in the time frame. Nearly 30% of the year has gone, and that is also very Indian.
So on one end there are the bitter neem leaves and on the other end- there is a sweet jaggery. Have a beautiful day. Make a fresh start. Let bygones be bygones and happy Hindu New year.
