Colour, Light and Shakti- A Rang Panchami & International Women’s Day Reflection

Guruji Shrii Arnav’s Tribute to the Women of the World and to the Miraculous Healing Powers of Jyotish Gems

Today is a rare and beautiful day.

Across the world people celebrate International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to acknowledging the strength, intelligence, compassion and extraordinary resilience of women.

At the same time, in the sacred rhythms of India, today carries the fragrance of Rang Panchami, a celebration where colour and water become the language of love.

And when these two celebrations meet, something extraordinary happens.

We begin to understand a deeper truth.

Women are both the colour and the light of life.

Colour and Light — The Secret of Harmony

In my work with Jyotish gemstones, I have often explained that gemstones function through two essential forces:

Colour and Light.

Colour carries the emotional frequency.

Light carries the energy of consciousness.

When these two work in harmony, life begins to move with grace.

Is it not fascinating that our ancient festivals mirror this same wisdom?

Diwali is the festival of Light.

Holi is the festival of Colour.

Light illuminates the world.

Colour makes the world beautiful.

And in the centre of both stands the feminine principle — Shakti.

“Mohe Apne Rang Mein Rang De Piya”

There is a beautiful devotional line in the Bhakti tradition:

मोहे अपने रंग में रंग दे पिया

Beloved, colour me in your colour.

This line captures the essence of love.

To allow someone to colour you requires trust.

It requires vulnerability.

It requires the courage to lower the walls around your heart.

And this is precisely what we see in the divine play of Radha and Krishna.

Radha does not merely love Krishna.

Krishna does not merely love Radha.

They trust each other enough to lose themselves in each other’s colour.

That is love.

That is devotion.

That is surrender.

The Many Forms of Woman

In our sacred tradition, the feminine is never one-dimensional.

She appears in many forms.

She is Saraswati, the quiet power of wisdom and creativity.

She is Lakshmi, the grace that nourishes prosperity and harmony.

She is Durga, the fearless force that protects righteousness.

Wisdom.

Prosperity.

Strength.

Three lights of the same divine flame.

And every woman carries this sacred triad within her.

The Colours of the Cosmos

When we look at the nine gemstones of Jyotish, we see another beautiful truth.

Each gemstone represents a planetary colour — a frequency of the cosmos.

Nine colours.

Nine planetary forces.

These colours interact with the twelve dimensions of life.

That is the philosophy I often describe as:

The 9×12 Way

A system where the harmony of colour and light helps us understand destiny and life itself.

And perhaps this is why women resonate so deeply with colour.

Because colour is emotion.

And emotion is the language of the heart.

Celebrating Women in the Modern World

Today, as we celebrate women, we must also recognise the immense role they play in shaping our world.

Women today are:

  • educators
  • leaders
  • thinkers
  • healers
  • creators of families and civilizations

Earlier this morning, I had the privilege of conducting a workshop at the Thai Red Cross Society focusing on women’s psychology in modern times.

It reminded me once again that celebrating women is not merely about flowers and greetings.

It is about standing beside them with respect, empathy and awareness.

Colour, Water and Trust

There is another beautiful dimension to Rang Panchami.

During Holi, colours are first applied as dry gulal.

But on Rang Panchami, colour meets water.

Water represents Jal Tattva, the element of emotion, flow and trust.

When colour meets water, it spreads everywhere.

Just like love.

Just like compassion.

Just like the influence of a woman in the life of a family.

A Personal Reflection

Later today I will be joining friends at the Indian Chamber of Commerce here in Thailand to celebrate Holi and Rang Panchami.

And in that gathering, I hope to initiate a small step toward addressing the serious issue of drug addiction affecting young people in this beautiful country.

In the evening, I will also attend a special event marking the 130th anniversary of the Louis Vuitton group and the unveiling of the concept of their first hotel.

From spiritual gatherings to global luxury events, the world moves through many colours and dimensions.

But in every sphere of life, one truth remains constant:

The feminine principle sustains the balance of the universe.

A Message to Women

To every woman reading this today:

You are not merely strong.

You are strength itself.

You are not merely nurturing.

You are the source of nourishment.

You are not merely beautiful.

You are the colour and light that makes the world beautiful.

On this beautiful convergence of International Women’s Day and Rang Panchami,

I bow with gratitude to the Shakti within you.

May your life always be filled with:

colour

light

harmony

love

Happy International Women’s Day.

Happy Rang Panchami.

With blessings and respect,

Guruji Shrii Arnav
