Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk — The Lion, the Diamond & the Dharma”
Live from the Mansion of the Diwans of Sher-e-Punjab — Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji
Very few walk these corridors. Fewer still speak with the voice of Dharma amidst walls that once housed kings, Dewans, and the energy of empires.
Today, I walked into the home of Mulchand Ji, the great Dewan of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, hosted by his descendant Mr. Amit Dewan. The same Dewans who handled Diwani (economic statecraft) in the court of the Lion of Punjab.
And in this sacred place, we remember the Koh‑i‑Noor, the most enigmatic gem in human history — and how Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji, its last Indian sovereign, revered it not just as a jewel, but as an offering to God.
I am blessed that God opens gates and corridors for me and I can bring my insights to the art of Gem therapy and statuesque Gemstones- gates and corridors sometimes not open even to Noblemen, Statesmen, Presidents and Prime Ministers.
The Koh-i-Noor diamond is prominently cited as part of the British Crown Jewels and is currently on display at the Tower of London.
It's a subject of ongoing diplomatic disputes, with multiple countries claiming ownership. The diamond's history is intertwined with colonial history, and its acquisition by the British is a point of contention.
India, Pakistan and Afghanistan are amongst the prominent nations that stake claim to the Koh-I- noor Diamond that literally means
MOUNTAIN OF LIGHT and it is that. i am blessed to have viewed it with my eyes in a setting and an adventure that is reserved for another day.
The Lion & the Light
Ranjit Singh Ji wore the Koh‑i‑Noor in his turban plume—not for decoration, but as a talisman of sovereignty.
On his deathbed, he willed it to Lord Jagannath of Puri, wishing that this ‘Mountain of Light’ be placed at the Lord’s lotus feet.
Such was his sense of cosmic balance

Alauddin Khalji (Delhi Sultanate) – Conquest via war

Nader Shah (Persia) – Named it “Koh‑i‑Noor” in 1739
Ahmad Shah Durrani (Afghanistan) – Received it as war booty
Shah Shujah Durrani – Lost it in exile
Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji – Spiritualized it, protected it
Maharaja Duleep Singh – Ceded under pressure

What Exactly Is the Koh‑i‑Noor
Meaning: “Mountain of Light”
Origin: Kollur Mine, Golconda, Andhra Pradesh
Original Weight: ~190 carats (cut to 105.6 cts in 1852)
Type: D-colour, Type IIa diamond (rarest, chemically pure)
Mystique: Said to bring misfortune to men, prosperity to queens
Current Location: British Crown Jewels, Tower of London
Power, Curse, Karma, and Grace
Every hand that held it—Mughal, Persian, Afghan, Sikh, British—rose and then fell.
But Ranjit Singh alone tried to break the karmic loop by surrendering it to divine will.
He wanted the world to know:
“The true owner of light is God alone
Sanskrit Mantras — Diamond of Dharma- Sacred codified laws related to the Koh- I - Noor Diamond.
I will share 3 today and with hold the other 6 power verses because they can do more harm than good due to selective interpretation etc.

Koh‑i‑Noor is not just stone — it’s Tat Sat: a convergence of Light, Name, and Truth.

(“May brilliance prevail, may this light illuminate the world.”)

“द्रव्यं न धारयति तेजः, आत्मबलं धारयति रत्नं।”
(“It is not the material that holds power, but the soul-force within the gem “
And Today… We Are Not Telling History. We Are Living It.
