Planetary Pile-up and Solar Eclipse

Article Date: 2019-12-04 17:27:57 IST

This is a slightly different month, so we will be treating as a piece with a tad bit more emphasis – implying that it requires more effort and attention on part of the readers.

So what is special about December 2019? Sun will transit into the sign of Sagittarius on December 16, 2019 - nothing new or exceptional as Sun transits through a sign of the zodiac for nearly a month and then it moves on to the next. However, what is exceptional this time is the fact that Saturn, Jupiter and Ketu (South Node of the moon) are already in the sign of Sagittarius, and from December 16 the sun moves in too.

Not only that, Mercury will join this melee on 25th December and so will the Moon (even though moon will only reside in the space for two and half days). Six planets will be in conjunction in the sign of Sagittarius later this month. Astrologically, it is called a graha yuddha (planetary war) situation and can bring intense and significant outcomes including crises at a Global Level.

Just imagine, 6 people of different temperaments made to live in one room! Chances of clashes and conflict are aplenty. The internal environment of an individual spiritually, emotionally and physically will definitely be impacted.

To add a little more intensity the annular solar eclipse visible in India, will also occur in the sign of Sagittarius on December 26, 2019. It is definitely a situation that demands attention as intense emotions can precipitate different outcomes for different individuals.

How this occurrence impacts you, will depend on where this planetary pile-up happens in your horoscope – which bhava/ house does it occur in, with regard to your Moon sign. It is always good to be aware and take on remedial action if necessary.  Also, it is a good thing to be able to close the year on a good note, isn’t it?

It is important to note the inherent contradictions that the co-habitation of these six brings in –

  • The Sun-Saturn conjunction brings the eternal father-son equation of disagreement, angst and anger.
  • The disquieting Moon-Mercury alignment brings the volatile opposition of logic versus emotion.
  • Lastly the Jupiter-Ketu conjunction brings in tremendous confusion for it sparks the difficult debate of belief versus agnostic way of life.

The eclipse will be visible in India and since it is happening on the sign of Sagittarius, the Sagittarius born folk need to be additionally careful as they are already undergoing the Sade Sati.

Some of the Remedies individuals can adopt for better outcomes are these:

  • Recite the Mahamrityunjaya mantra 108 times daily
  • Offer a prayer to Mother Saraswati for making wise choices and dignified speech
  • Consciously avoiding drama or overreacting in volatile situations
  • Defer important decisions to a more suitable time
  • Wearing suitable gemstone to invite better luck
  • Avoid taking unnecessary risks with health, wealth and relationships
