DIWALI OR DEEPAVALI: Diwali is popularly known as the festival of lights. It is celebrated on the Amavasya / moonless night also known as the MAHANISHA RATRI. On this occasion Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi resides in the heart of Lord Narayana. This festival is celebrated over three days.

 

• TRIYODASHI/DHANTERAS: Dhanteras is celebrated on the 13th day of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) in the Hindu month of Kartik.

 

• NARAK CHATURDASHI: The next day of Trayodashi is Narak Chaturdashi, also known as Roop Chaudas. On this day Lord Narayana, in his Lord Krishna avatar, vanquished Narakasur, the demon.

 

• DEEPAWALI: This celebrated on the Amavasya or moonless night. The most auspicious night to invoke the Goddess of Wealth, the consort of Lord Narayana, Mahalakshmi.

1. Lakshmi Kuber Homa (18 October 2025):

The auspicious day of Dhanteras is the first day of Diwali puja. It is a great day to invoke Goddess Mahalakshmi and yaksharaja Kubera. It is also a day where Pooja is done for Dhanvantri Bhagwan. He is the god who is said to have emerged from Samudra manthan bearing the knowledge of ayurveda and the nectar of immortality. He is not only the giver of untold wealth and riches, but is also the giver of great good health. Day when the Laxmi - Kubera Homa will be performed along with oblations to Lord Dhanvantari. The word Lakshmi is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘lakshya’ meaning aim or goal, and she is the goddess of we alth and prosperity, both material and spiritual.
