Recently we received a question from one of our patrons that says:

I was reading Guruji’s article about gemstone therapy and not removing one’s gemstone after wearing it at an auspicious time. I have tried to follow this rule but have one question. After prolonged use, soap scum and lotion residue build up beneath the gemstone in the area where the gemstone touches the finger. Is it alright to remove the gemstone for just a few minutes (occasionally, let’s say once every month) to clean the gemstone and wear it again on the auspicious day for the gemstone?

Also – sometimes the gemstone slips off of the finger by accident for a few seconds – can one put the ring back on immediately after it slips off the finger?

Such questions are received periodically by us, hence this write up:

How to clean your Planetary Gemstone ring

Here is the method that gives good results:

– Clean your gemstone rings and pendant once every month so that scintillation remains and the gemstones provide maximum reflection of light besides looking beautiful.

– Choose the correct day for cleaning. Each Gemstone has its unique day. The list is given below.

– Use a gentle soft solution or a mild detergent as the cleansing solution. Keep away from harsh detergents and Jewelry cleaning solutions.

– If there is not a lot of dirt then simply take the ring till the edge of the finger and use a new cotton ear bud to wipe off the dirt.

– If there is a lot of dirt take a new Toothbrush with Gentle bristles and dip it in the mild soap solution. Take the Gemstone ring till the edge of the finger and clean the below surface. Keep this toothbrush separate as a part of your Gemstone cleaning kit.

– Wash with plain, clean water after clearing the dust and the dead skin if any.

– Push the ring back into its original position.

By using this method in no manner your ring leaves body contact. With a little bit of practice you can do it easily.

Special Care:

Be very careful when cleaning Organic Gemstones like Red Coral and Natural pearl and also Gemstones that have less hardness like Emerald. Use a mild soap solution, mild detergent solution or solution of your bathing bar. Stay away from harsh detergents and Jewelry cleaning kits.

Putting the Shine Back

Sometimes the lustre and shine of your Red Coral or Emerald may appear less after cleaning. This is quite natural. Just apply a tiny bit of your face cream to the surface and your gemstone regains its glitter and Shine.

Accidental slipping of the ring

Just put it back right away. No effects on the results are noticed.

There are three things that have motivated me in writing this article.

1) I have received thousands of mails from Gem Lovers and those interested in planetary gemology after I wrote the article Do Gemstones Work – No They Don’t for 90% of the People. I take this opportunity to thank each one of you through this medium for your appreciation, since sending individual mails to each one of you would be quite difficult. Among that multitude of Messages there were several messages that asked questions like I am wearing Hessonite in Middle finger of left hand. Is it correct or should it be the right hand and many others on the same lines. Even though this question sounds innocuous-it isnâ€™t and correct implementation of Gemstone therapy is also dependent on wearing the Gemstone in the correct hand and fingers.

2) A mail message received yesterday from an existing Gemstoneuniverse.com patron that says,

None of the 7 points in the checklist to avoid a failure in gem therapy and get good results from your gem, mentioned certain gems must go with certain fingers. Kindly clarify if the gems could be worn in any finger and still will achieve the beneficial planetary effect.

3) Meeting with an individual who came to consult me yesterday evening and who was wearing a Blue Sapphire in the ring finger of the right hand.

Note: The ring finger represents the Sun which in turn represents the Law. Blue Sapphire is the gemstone of Saturn and is generally worn in the middle finger. Incidentally this Gentleman and his family have been involved in a messy litigation after he started wearing the Blue Sapphire in the ring finger.

In Which Hand should I be wearing my Gemstones?

In Hinduism, Ardhanari or Ardhanarishvara (Sanskrit: à¤…à¤°à¥à¤§à¤¨à¤¾à¤°à¥€à¤¶à¥à¤µà¤°, ArdhanÄrÄ«Å›vara), is an androgynous deity composed of Shiva and his consort Shakti, representing the synthesis of masculine and feminine energies. The Ardhanari form also illustrates how the female principle of God, Shakti, is inseparable from the male principle of God, Shiva. Ardhanari in iconography is depicted as half-male and half-female, split down the middle. The masculine part is the right side and the feminine part is the left side. Full expression of both these halves leads to complete self realization.

In General, all shastras- sacred texts have the unanimous view that Gents should wear the Gemstones in the right hand and Ladies should wear the Gemstones in the left hand. This is the thumb rule that gives good results.

Exceptions, Sure, Yes!

Gents who use the left hand primarily as their working hand, for signing documents etc. should wear the Gemstones in the left hand.

What are the correct fingers for wearing Gemstones?

The planets are clearing marked on oneâ€™s palm and have specific and exact positions. Gemstones should be worn in the correct fingers to get good results.

No results are better than bad results( Such as the case of the Gentleman wearing the Blue Sapphire in the ring finger.

These are transferred from a Guru to a deserving Shishya/ Disciple. Yes, these exceptions exist but only to the tune of 1% and such recommendations are available to the masters.

Among all the major gemstones used for Navagraha Gemology and planetary gem therapy purposes-Emerald also known as Panna has the most visible inclusions.

Emerald is the deep green variety of beryl, an aluminum berylium silicate, Al₂Be₃(Si₆O₁₈). It is a cyclosilicate and often found in hexagonal primatic crystal forms. Beryl is 7.5-8 on the hardness scale and a vitreous lustre

Any specimen that has very less inclusions or no inclusions is seen with suspicion as a synthetic Gemstone or an imitation. In General occurrence of fractures, inclusions, mica elements in Emeralds does not reduce their value but instead prove that they were created in the lap of Mother Nature and hence are natural.

What is Jyotish Quality Clarity In Emerald?

Since our domain is Jyotish Quality Emerald what is the clarity level that we should aim for. At Gemstoneuniverse we keep the basic clarity level to be around 90% to be of Jyotish Quality. However if you are able to source an Emerald with around 80% clarity Levels, it will give good results for Mercury. Anything below that should not be considered.

The most common kind of inclusions seen are the Jardins or Gardens that are seen in all natural Emeralds. Another common kind of inclusion is the white feathery or flaky inclusion of the mineral.

Naraka Chaturdashi/ Kali Chaudas or Roop Chaturdashi is the 14^th day of the Hindu month of Kartik, the day just before Deepawali. The day is celebrated to commemorate Krishnaâ€™s slaying of the demon Narakasura who had tormented the human beings for long.

Lesser known fact about this day is that, this auspicious day is an occasion when one can seek divine intervention for acquiring beauty and magnetism. Of course, some spiritual sadhanas can be performed for the same but with the guidance of a preceptor.

Every Hindu festival has rational logic to it and so does the festival of deepawali. The dhanteras festival is celebrated to acknowledge the importance of wealth or financial well-being.

The next day Roop ChaturdashiÂ is designated so as it reminds one that maintaining onesâ€™ body in a good state and keeping it beautiful is not a sign of vanity but is the done thing. One may not publicly lay premium on superficial beauty, but the desire to look good and exude charm is present in every heart. Â It is in fact a celebration of good health and a reminder to pay attention to this body which is the ultimate tool/ agent of fulfilling the purpose of this life. Taking care of self is usually low on the priority list of individuals.

It is considered auspicious to wake up before daybreak and bathe. The individuals dress well, in new clothes and women adorn themselves with ornaments and flowers (do the solah shringaars). Lord Krishna is prayed to this day and the mantra â€œOm Namaha Bhagvatey Vasudevaayaâ€ can be chanted.

The old story that goes with this day is thusâ€¦A sage once decided to completely devote his life to god. He surrendered his five karmendriyas, five gyanendriyas and 11 minds to God and thus entered into a state of Samadhi. Sometime lapsed and the sage came to temporarily. Much to his dismay he saw that his body had been taken over by insects and tiny organisms and his hair were infested with lice.Â He sat severely disappointed when Narad Muni happened to pass by. To him, he lamented, â€œMy good Lord, I had intended to dedicate my austerities to the almighty, to lead my life in complete devotion to him. However, what has happened to me is something I cannot deal with. I never wanted such decadence to affect me.â€

Narad Muni said to him, â€œMy man, the dedication that devotion requires is well understood by you, but what you do not yet understand is that the earthly form is a blessing in itself and requires to be cherished and preserved.â€ He then explained the importance of the 14^th day of Kartik Maas to the sage and instructed him to go about certain rituals. The sage did so and was returned his beautiful human form in all its health and glory.

India is the mother of the sacred science of Planetary Gemology. This is the only developed system of Gem recommendation that has such an extensive methodology and wherein the results obtained sometimes are phenomenal.

Ask some of those individuals who have experience d theÂ power of a real Blue Sapphire or a real Catâ€™s Eye Chrysoberyl and you will get some wonderful stories about how strange events after wearing the Gemstone bough about a desirable change in several aspects of life.

At Gemstoneuniverse, Planetary Gemology is a passion and it pains us when we see a blatant abuse of Gem Therapy.

That brings us to the subject of Gem recommendations in the states of West Bengal, Assam, Orissa. Itâ€™s a pity that such things happen in areas that were once the seat of Indian tantra.

As per a survey conducted by us neither people were confident about talking about the results they experienced after wearing these gemstones neither there were any positive events after implementation of this therapy.

The answer to his question is mass commercialization and the unholy nexus between bluff Astrologers and equally unethical Jewellers.

Bluff Gomedh/Hessonite

Sold on an auction website as 4.34 carats Natural Gomed Hessonite Rashi Gem for Rahu.Â Certified Stone.

When we talk about Jyotish Quality Stones we talk about clarity and lack of treatment. This is nowhere a Jyotish Quality Gemstone. It is an ugly rock and not a beautiful gemstone. Can you see any light passing through the dense mineral matrix! Look for marks on the surface and lack of lustre/ polish. This is a sample of mineral Hessonite Mined Â in Gaya in Bihar.

Bluff Pearl/Cultured Pearl

Listing on an auction website as Huge 14.20 carats Pearl (Moti): Stone for Moon. Very Good results of Chandra.

The Value of this pearl is not even INR 20/$.40. This is a bluff cultured pearl. The strangest way pearl therapy is implemented in these states is that we get to get Individuals wearing Pearls in Index finger/ ring finger/ Little finger.

And yes, we get some queries from People who call up and ask whether a 12.25 ratti Pearl is available as He has been recommended one by his Astrologer.

Synthetic Coral from Taiwan

The third abused Gemstone is Red Coral. In these states it is generally observed that Red Coral is worn in ring finger in Gold, Silver or copper. Most importantly the sizes are huge and the certificate does not read Organic Coral. Most of these Corals are sourced from Taiwan and are synthetic and of very poor value.

What is the truth?

1) None of the gems listed above are anywhere Jyotish Quality.

2) All of them are poor quality products.

3) The cost of procuring this inventory is very low.

4) There is an unholy network between non qualified Astrologers and Jewellers.

5) We see this daily day in day out-still we could not figure out why everyone is wearing the same kind of gemstones.

What’s in a Name?-Everything. It has the power of God Realization! A short story shared by Guruji Shrii Arnav with us today!

It so happened once that Emperor Akbar and Birbal ventured out for a walk where they chanced upon a Brahmin seeking alms. The emperor asked Birbal about what had happened to the man and why he was seeking alms. Birbal answered that he was a lost soul. Upon hearing that Emperor Akbar commanded Birbal to set things right for this man, to which he answered that the job would require about three months and in that duration, things would be set straight for the Brahmin.

That evening Birbal went over to the Brahmins house and asked him the reason for seeking alms despite being a man of knowledge. Without waiting for an answer, he set forth a proposal, From tomorrow, start your day at four in the morning and chant Lord Ram’s name for me for two hours. I will have a gold coin sent every evening as a day’s wages. The Brahmin was overjoyed at the great proposal and set to work the very next day. Over a couple of weeks time his finances became strong and he was doing well.

The wonder that happened alongside was that the chanting and its special satvik effect started to work on the Brahmins mind and he thought, If chanting for Birbal can make me this rich, what would happen if I chanted for myself. With this thought he started doing and additional two hours of “Ram Ram” for himself. All his material problems were done away with one by one. So overwhelmed he was by now with the simple and pure magic of the good Lord’s name that he sent a message to Birbal, will now only chant for myself. Please do not send any more gold. The chanting of Lord’s name has awakened my higher self. I have found my true calling and I would like to spend the rest of my life in devotion to him.

He sought his wife’s counsel in the matter saying that all material needs had been taken care of and that he was now ready for his higher calling. A good spiritually inclined woman, she agreed and the Brahmin set out for performance of his meditation and austerities in seclusion. So great was his tapas that people began coming for his darshan and seeking his blessings. His fame reached the ears of Emperor Akbar too who went along with Birbal to have the darshan of this holy saint.

Akbar spoke, mahatma, I am Akbar, the Emperor of India. If you ever need anything, just remember me. I will make sure that your requests are honoured fastest possible.

The Brahmin smiled and said, Emperor, You do not have anything that could be required by me. But yes, if you ever need anything, please do not hesitate in asking.

Birbal stepped in and said to the Emperor, My Lord, This is the very Brahmin who was seeking alms on the streets three months ago. The mere chanting of Ram Ram has turned him from a beggar to a giver. He is now the wealthiest in the real sense of the word.â€

Chanting of Lord’s name has a special significance, especially in Kaliyuga. It does tremendous amount of good to chant the name of your ishtadevta (your beloved god). There are no strictures regarding taking your God’s name. However, the benefits are many. It is the ultimate key to your ascension on the spiritual plane.
