Natural Peridot also known as Olivine or zabarjad is the substitute gem of natural emerald /panna and carries the planetary energy of Mercury/ Budh within it. The hardness of Peridot is 6.5-7 on the Moh’s scale of hardness and hence cleaning your Peridot Jewellery in an ultrasonic cleaner is not an option. It may lead to discoloration of the crystal. Strong cleaning agents should also be avoided.
