Featured today is a beautiful gem – an oval cut olivine of the luscious green apple shade from the faraway mines of Pakistan. The natural and treatment free peridot of 3.27 carats has been set in sterling silver as a Mercury talisman ring. The gem has excellent clarity and vitreous lustre. The symbol of Mercury stands in relief on the shanks of the ring.

The added feature is that it is a Planetary bhasma ring with the sacred herbal ash or bhasma of apamarga sealed into the tubular channels on the side of the gem that also form a part of the design element.

Natural peridot or zabarjad is the upratna for emerald/ panna and is the gem of planet Mercury. Apamarga is the sacred herb of planet Mercury.
