The yellow sapphire is a dainty nugget at 2.07 carats and has been set in 22-karat gold as a ladies yellow sapphire ring in a bezel setting. It is a mixed cut oval gem with a rich butter yellow color, great clarity and electric lustre, which is quite the hallmark of Ceylon yellow sapphires.

The top view of the gem can never be enough to assess it for a gem with a small table may have a belly cut, where most of its carat weight is concentrated. In such a case the depth of the gem is larger than usual. In the case of this gem, the depth of this yellow sapphire is almost 4 mm.
