A gem of a woman

Abhijita Kulshrestha, Director & Senior Astro-Gemologist, Gemstone universe, beleives my notion of what a seer should look like. The flowing draperies, heavy accent, matted hair and hooded eyes are notably absent. Instead she turns out to be a beautifully dressed, well-spoken lady with twinkling eyes and a gentle demeanour. "1 hold a Master's degree in Mass Communication and have worked in the media for many years," she says adding that she also taught at the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmadabad and was a free-lance writer.
Her foray into astrology was serendipitous. A sceptic at first, she was soon won over by the logic and depth of this ancient science, "My husband is my guru and it Was he who led me through his journey. He made realize that not everything had to have logic. Sometimes you have to trust your instincts and listen to nature," she says.
Abhijita is also a certified Accredited Jewellery Professional by GIA as well as a PGA (Planetary Gemmologists Association) certified planetary gem advisor. In addition to this she is also certified NLP practitioner from the national Federation of NeuroLinguistic Programming, Florida.
According to her, "Astrological and planetary gem therapy solutions are part of our vast ancient Indian wisdom that has been passed on from our ancients through the Vedas but lost in the fabric of time and the age of modern consumerism."
Her attempts to revive this and bring alternate solutions to people manifested in the creation of Gemstone Universe, 'We offer resolutions using gemstones, a process called gem therapy.My basic reference point is basic birth chart or horoscope. In very little space the entire blue-print of life is in front of you and you know what your strengths are, what challenges you."
She merges her knowledge of stars, planets, gems and the intrinsic nature of the person to derive a solution that is uniquely suited to the individual.
'The primary basis for any type of healing to occur is energy channeling. If you keep reducing our beings we can all be broken down to nothing but energy. Ans most gemstones are also incredible repository of energy. When your energy comes in contact with the unadulterated package of energy which is the gemstone, an interaction occurs. And if the right energy interaction occurs, good things happen," she says. "I strongly believe that holistic and lasting changes can be brought about only when you tune in to your own higher power and absorb and energise yourself with the cosmic energy that is meant for you,"
